This Saturday, November 9, was a special day marked by unity and solidarity in the second edition of ONCOGRAVEL\"\ud83d\udeb4\u200d\u2642\ufe0f\"\"\ud83d\udeb4\ud83c\udffb\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\", a charity event organized by the Oncolliga Girona Foundation, whose goal is to improve the physical and emotional well-being of people with cancer and their families. This initiative not only aims to raise funds but also to raise awareness about the importance of supporting those facing this illness and needing assistance and support services.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

ONCOGRAVEL<\/strong> is held annually in the heart of Baix Empord\u00e0, in a natural setting that not only tests participants\u2019 endurance but also offers a unique experience to everyone involved in the cause. Since its first edition, ONCOGRAVEL has attracted cyclists from various places, united by a desire to contribute to the fight against cancer. Participants can choose between two routes: a shorter one of 123 km and a longer one of 243 km. Each pedal stroke is a step toward the goal of fighting cancer.<\/p>\n

The Oncolliga Girona Foundation<\/strong>, which organizes this event, has been working since 2004 to provide support services to people diagnosed with cancer and their families.<\/strong> The foundation has become a reference in the region, offering psychological care, physical therapy, physical and emotional wellness programs, and social support for those navigating the complex path of the disease.<\/p>\n

Marina Palam\u00f3s: A Strong Commitment to the Cause<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year, Marina Palam\u00f3s joined as an event sponsor, strengthening its commitment to community and social well-being. In this edition, we had two teams that completed the 123 km route in 7:45 h, accumulating over 1,050 km between them! Participation was not only a sporting challenge but also a way to express our support and solidarity with those who need it most.<\/p>\n

An event full of emotion, effort, and solidarity<\/strong><\/p>\n

The day was filled with emotions and unforgettable moments. The 391 participants and 70 teams who joined this cause experienced a journey of self-improvement, driven not only by a passion for cycling but also by the satisfaction of contributing to a greater purpose. It was a day of fun, joy, and pride for having completed the challenge. Next year, we\u2019ll return with the same energy and enthusiasm!<\/p>\n

Results of this edition: Over \u20ac43,000 raised<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to the solidarity of all participants and collaborators, the second edition of ONCOGRAVEL raised \u20ac43,941.78, which will be used to finance the Oncolliga Girona Foundation’s support services. These funds will allow the foundation to continue offering emotional and physical support programs for people with cancer, an invaluable service that improves the quality of life for many in the region.<\/p>\n
