On Saturday, March 8, the inauguration and commissioning ceremony of the new panoramic elevator in Palam\u00f3s took place<\/strong>. This key infrastructure aims to improve accessibility between the port and the historic city center. This new connection will facilitate the movement of residents and visitors, providing a more comfortable and fluid transition between both areas, especially for people with reduced mobility, cyclists, and those who prefer to avoid stairs or steep slopes.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by prominent authorities, led by the Minister of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition, the Hon. Mrs. S\u00edlvia Paneque<\/strong>, who presided over the event alongside the Mayor of Palam\u00f3s, Mr. Llu\u00eds Puig<\/strong>. Also present were the President and CEO of Marina Palam\u00f3s, Mr. Luis Conde and Mr. Germ\u00e1n Castej\u00f3n<\/strong>, respectively. Additionally, the Secretary of Infrastructure and President of Ports of the Generalitat, Mr. Manel Nadal<\/strong>, and the Head of the Northern Port Area, Mr. Joan Pere Darbra<\/strong>, attended, highlighting the importance of this new infrastructure for the city and its surroundings.<\/p>\n

Following the official inauguration, the port management team organized a guided tour of the facilities, where they explained the strategic vision for port management<\/strong> and the main actions being promoted in various key areas. Among these, efforts in energy transition<\/strong> were highlighted, with initiatives to improve efficiency and the use of renewable energies<\/strong>, as well as optimizing water management<\/strong> for a more sustainable use of resources. Special emphasis was also placed on projects dedicated to the protection and promotion of marine biodiversity<\/strong>, reaffirming Marina Palam\u00f3s strong commitment to environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n

This elevator, fully financed by Marina Palam\u00f3s as part of its port-municipality integration plan<\/strong>, represents another step toward establishing an accessible port fully integrated into urban life. Furthermore, this project aligns with the strategic planning of Ports of Catalonia, outlined in the “Horizon 2030”<\/strong> plan, which aims to enhance the connectivity and sustainability of port infrastructures throughout the region.<\/p>\n

The panoramic elevator is open to the public<\/strong>, with operating hours adapted to the needs of residents and tourists. From September to May, it will operate from 07:00 to 22:00<\/strong>, while during the peak season, from<\/strong> June to August, its hours will be extended until 02:00 h<\/strong>, facilitating movement for those enjoying the port and its surroundings during summer nights.<\/p>\n

With this new infrastructure, Palam\u00f3s strengthens its commitment to accessibility, sustainability, and improving the quality of life for its residents and visitors, promoting a development model that combines modernity with respect for its natural and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
