It has been one year since the panoramic elevator connecting the Port walkway with Pla\u00e7a del Pedr\u00f3 became operational, an infrastructure that has helped improve accessibility and strengthen the connection between the port and the historic center of Palam\u00f3s.<\/p>\n

From its opening until January 8, 2026, the elevator has recorded a total of 58,094 movements<\/strong>, with an estimated 46,000 users in its first year<\/strong>. During the summer months, it reaches an average daily use of around 300 people<\/strong>, while during the rest of the year the daily average is about 70 users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These figures demonstrate the strong reception this infrastructure has received from both residents and visitors. For Marina Palam\u00f3s, the first-year review is very positive, as the elevator has clearly improved accessibility and reinforced the integration between the port and the town<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A more accessible connection between the port and the historic center<\/h2>\n

The elevator allows users to overcome the height difference between the port walkway and Pla\u00e7a del Pedr\u00f3, which previously could only be navigated via stairs. It offers a convenient alternative for pedestrians, cyclists, and people with reduced mobility<\/strong>, connecting the Old Town of Palam\u00f3s with the port area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure overcomes a vertical distance of approximately 16 meters<\/strong>, featuring a cabin with a capacity of 11 people<\/strong>, plus a 16-meter-long walkway<\/strong> connecting the elevator to the upper plaza.<\/p>\n

Thus, the elevator has become a new connection point between different areas of the town, also providing access to the Cam\u00ed de Ronda<\/strong> linking Palam\u00f3s center with areas such as La Fosca or Castell.<\/p>\n

A unique architectural project<\/h2>\n

Beyond functionality, the elevator stands out for its architectural design and landscape integration<\/strong>. The structure combines interior glass with an exterior mesh of ceramic pieces that visually blend with the natural surroundings and the rocky slope where it is located.<\/p>\n

The project was designed to minimize visual impact<\/strong> and harmonize with the coastal landscape, using durable materials and construction solutions suitable for a marine environment.<\/p>\n

Several specialized companies and technical teams participated in the project, including Arumi Prefabricats, Orona, Flexbrick, Serralleria Roca, Rubau Tarr\u00e9s, Esteyco, and the Mart\u00ed Franch landscape studio<\/strong>, along with institutional support from the Palam\u00f3s Town Council and Ports de la Generalitat.<\/p>\n

Its architectural uniqueness has also attracted international architecture studios interested in observing the design and construction process up close.<\/p>\n

Port\u2011town integration and local activation<\/h2>\n

The elevator is part of Marina Palam\u00f3s\u2019 port\u2011town integration strategy<\/strong>, carried out in collaboration with Ports de la Generalitat, aiming to strengthen the connection between the port and Palam\u00f3s\u2019 urban life.<\/p>\n

During the last summer season, many visitors have used the elevator to reach the town center and enjoy Palam\u00f3s\u2019 commercial and gastronomic offerings.<\/p>\n

After its first year, the elevator has become a valuable infrastructure for residents, visitors, and port users, contributing to making the port more accessible, open, and integrated into the town\u2019s urban fabric<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
