In January, six “Giants of the Seas” will set sail from Brest solo and non-stop to attempt a unique round-the-world race aboard their Ultim trimarans. An extraordinary sailing race known as the Arkea Ultim Challenge.

This regatta represents a turning point in sailing. The participants, all experienced skippers, face 40 to 50 days of extreme sailing. The course crosses the 3 legendary capes (Good Hope, Leeuwin and Horn).

A human and technological challenge carried out by the Ultim 32/23 Class sailors accompanied by their owners and partners.

This great feat ended on February 27 at 8 a.m. with the triumph of Charles Caudrelier with a total of 50 days, 19 hours, 7 minutes and 42 seconds since leaving Brest on Sunday, January 7.

Caudrelier, a popular and highly respected sailor, leader among his peers, achieves his greatest solo success and finally fulfills his youthful dream: to win a solo round the world race. In addition to his victories in the Ocean Race, he consolidates his position as one of the best skippers among the great French skippers.
