Marina Palamós took part on May 7 and 8 in the 22nd Ports de Catalunya-ACPET Technical Conferences, held this year at the Teatre Municipal de Roses and organised by Port de Roses. The event brought together professionals, managers and companies from the Catalan nautical and port sector to share experiences, challenges and solutions related to innovation, sustainability and port infrastructure management.

Over the course of two days, professionals and representatives from the port sector across Catalonia shared experiences, challenges and new perspectives on the future of marina and yacht harbour management.
Our director, Álvaro Navarro, participated with a presentation focused on one of the sector’s major challenges: how to integrate technology and data to improve the environmental management of port facilities.
Digital transformation in the nautical sector is no longer solely an operational matter. Increasingly, marinas are incorporating technological tools that make it possible to obtain real-time information and make more accurate decisions regarding the management of marine ecosystems and the sustainability of their facilities.
As an early adopter of POSINODE technology, together with other ports in the area, Marina Palamós will soon have a system capable of measuring different water quality parameters in real time. This tool will form part of a broader environmental monitoring and management model that combines different technologies applied to the marine environment.
This system will complement other initiatives that Marina Palamós already develops on an ongoing basis, such as periodic marine biodiversity inspections together with OceanEcoStructures, our own photovoltaic installation and the responsible waste management carried out across the marina facilities.
For Marina Palamós, sustainability is not simply a statement of intent, but a concrete and measurable practice integrated into the daily management of the marina.
The conferences also included legal and technical discussion sessions addressing the sector’s main challenges. As a closing activity, a legal quiz organised by a law firm specialised in port law was held, in which Álvaro Navarro was the winner.
From Marina Palamós, we would like to thank Ports de Catalunya–ACPET, Port de Roses and all participating professionals for the exchange of knowledge and for continuing to promote spaces for reflection and collaboration for the future of the nautical sector.
